In the midst of such gracious weather, the gentle wind whispers, embracing the entrance to my house. Dressed in a simple shirt, I sit on an empty bench, seeking refuge from the strong winds blowing from both east and west. Unexpectedly, a young man approaches me, greeting me with respect.
The young man reveals that his grandfather, the venerable Sidi Mai Jaka, wishes to meet me. Intrigued, I follow him to the old man's house, where we find Sidi Mai Jaka awaiting our arrival with a warm smile. I am captivated by the old man's demeanor and the wisdom that seems to emanate from his very being.
The elder Sidi Mai Jaka is a sight to behold, his tall and white figure complemented by a long, white beard. Though he wears tattered clothes, his eyes reveal wisdom accumulated over seventy years of traversing the world.
Sidi Mai Jaka invites me to join him in the hall, and his grandson takes his leave. We engage in a pleasant conversation, and the old man expresses his admiration for my stories. He requests that I share another story with him, promising to support me in return.
The proposition leaves me taken aback, but I manage to respond with a light-hearted laugh. Sidi Mai Jaka's eyes seem to search for something deeper within me, trying to understand who I am and what I truly seek.
As the old man admits his financial struggles, he proposes to support me in writing another story. I am grateful for his offer, yet I contemplate the implications of such an exchange. Despite the allure of his support, I know that true creativity cannot thrive on transactions alone.
In the end, I decide to remain true to myself and my art. I kindly decline the offer, cherishing the genuine passion that flows within me, unbound by monetary gains.
This encounter with Sidi Mai Jaka reinforces the value of authenticity and the integrity of my creativity. I leave his house, grateful for the lesson learned, and ready to embrace the path that aligns with my true artistic vision.
