In a whirlwind of passion, Fatimah is lost in the music of her beloved Aliyu Shureim, singing lyrics that ignite her heart: “Ƙaunahh! Garkuwan jiki, naki ya taɓa ni, kece farin cikin raina, raina.” Her mother, Ummie, furiously knocks on her door, unnoticed for over five minutes as Fatimah sways to the love song, her eyes closed, immersed in joy. Ummie, usually patient, storms in, scolding Fatimah for neglecting her duties to Farida and indulging in “useless” music. Fatimah, startled, begs forgiveness, quickly bathes, and dons her Islamiyya uniform, rushing to prepare for school. At the parlor, she pleads with Ummie, who softens but urges her to hurry before her father or brothers see her tardiness.
Fatimah and Farida leave home, playfully teasing each other about being late. Their banter, filled with sisterly jests, continues until Fatimah stops at the grand Aliyu Shureim Stadium. There, a charming young man—Aliyu himself—approaches, his smile captivating her. Their eyes lock, and he recites poetic lines, praising her beauty and spirit: “Koda ganin ki doguwar yarin ya, ni zama dake kawai na shirya.” Fatimah blushes, her heart racing, forming a heart shape with her hands. The moment is electric, but her brother Nurien’s arrival interrupts, sparking tension. Aliyu, protective and jealous, glares at Nurien, accusing him of interfering with his love for Fatimah, even jokingly threatening him. Nurien, unfazed, retreats to a stadium seat, avoiding conflict.
This scene captures the intensity of young love, familial dynamics, and the clash of emotions in a vibrant setting. Fatimah’s infatuation with Aliyu, fueled by his music and charm, contrasts with her mother’s discipline and her brother’s protective instincts. The story hints at deeper tensions—love, rivalry, and the pull of tradition—set against the backdrop of a lively, music-filled world where hearts collide and emotions run high.
